Cinderella Pumpkin Wedding Inspiration

All Hallows’ Eve is almost upon us. Tonight or tomorrow, we’ll be carving our pumpkins and waiting for darkness to fall before setting out for themed work socials, parties with friends or a bit of trick-or-treating. I have seen so many fabulous beauty and fashion tips for this ghostly day of remembrance that I thought I would take a different approach to nostalgia and the popular pumpkin. Without further ado, I offer the first of my nostalgic, vintage fairytale inspired wedding themes – Cinderella!

The prince approached her, took her by the hand and danced with her. He would dance with no other maiden, and never let loose of her hand, and if any one else came to invite her, he said, “This is my partner.”

- Aschenputtel (Cinderella) by the Brothers Grimm, 1812.

Burnt Orange is definitely (one of – i’m so indecisive, sorry) favourite shades for autumn! Rich and warm, this colour is perfectly pumpkin! This scheme wouldn’t be in any way Halloween inspired if it didn’t have a few of those dotted throughout, would it? Artfully decorated with dreamy gold leaf, these pumpkins are fit for a royal wedding.

Include pumpkins into your theme by offering an unlimited supply spiced pumpkin lattes and adorn your reception tables with a glowing golden pumpkin or two… or twenty…

A fairytale inspired wedding theme would not be complete without some precious metals and Gold Tan is no exception. Just as it dusted the delicate wedding theme inspired by Marie Antoinette, so it reappears in the detailed embellishments of this Cinderella inspired wedding scheme.

Include Gold Tan in your Cinderella wedding scheme through miniature gold ornaments, a gold embossed pumpkin coach seat and gold brocade detail on your wedding dress. You could also encourage guests to wear golden masks at your wedding reception to recreate the mystery of her appearance at Prince Charming’s ball. In terms of gold ornaments, imagine mini pumpkins, carriages, mice and shoes dotted throughout the decor on your table and emblazoned onto your wedding stationary.

Baby-Pink Text

Including a dose of girly charm, Baby Pink works perfectly to lift the darker, cooler colours of this scheme. Mixed in with the golden pumpkins, this colour would work seamlessly across floral arrangements and added as an accent colour to your Cinderella inspired model miniatures. Not a bad colour for those wedding shoes either – unless, of course, you’re planning on a pair of glass slippers!

Iced Blue is the perfect colour both to represent the magical ball gown our adored Cinders wears to Prince Charming’s ball and also the increasingly icy edge of the autumn air. Whether you choose to opt for an intricate embellished bodice or choose a light shade of blue to shimmer under your chiffon, if you’re inspired by Cinderella getting this colour into your full fairytale wedding dress is a must!

You can also include this as the main colour of your wedding stationary, ensuring your Gold Tan scroll writing will glow from the page.

Well, what are you waiting for? Tick tock – Prince Charming is waiting for you!

Don’t let your heart be filled with sorrow,
For all you know tomorrow,
The dream that you wish will come true.
No matter how your heart is grieving
If you keep on believing
The dream that you wish will come true.

- Cinderella by Walt Disney, 1950.
